It depends on where you live, the amount of grass you have and the amount of acreage the horse will be on. I board my horse, I do self care board though. I pay $80 a month on board, $60 on shavings, $3 a bale of hay which he eats one, sometimes more a day, $40 on grain and $10 on random things like supplements and such. So my average is around $ 300 monthly, $3,600 yearly. If you have a lot of grass, you wont need as much hay and it is a lot cheaper to buy round bails, where I'm from.
we have 5.3 acres of land....so yeah def a lot of grass LOL....the people who owned the house before us had a horse...so we already have a coral for it....just got to fix it up a bit.....we have a barn for the horse already....although we will probably tear it down and just build a newer better and bigger one
