Next Saturday, December 15th, one of our local rescues will be camping out at the animal shelter up on the hill, and it is their mission to get most, if not all, of the shelter animals placed into new, loving homes for the holidays. It is a yearly adoption ordeal, and it warms my heart to think about it.

What about where you live? Do they do any adoption events similar to this?

Not that I'm aware of and actually most of the rescues refuse to adopt to people this time of year in my area as they don't want "Christmas animals" because 99% of the time sometime after the new year they are returned when people find out they were more responsibility than they bargained for unfortunately. January is one of the busiest months for rescues and shelters.

We had one this weekend at ours and I think next weekend. We are going to probably adopt a cat after we get back in town from Christmas.
