We actually use ceramic for both our dogs and cats. I've read that for dogs, the plastic bowls can actually cause the dogs nose to lose the pigment and change color. Not that this harms them at all...I just thought we'd avoid it!

We have one of those big water dispensers that you fill and put upside down in the container and it trickles out every time they drink. They are so thirsty all the time and I bet it doesn't even last a week. Then for the dogs food we have just a plastic bowl for Charlie. We do spoon feed Lady from a can. And the cats have their food in a bucket where they just stick there head into and eat. That way the dogs don't get into it and get sick. Its in an old littler bucket.

I also have a water jug like Carie and I have a dog feeder that matches it. I keep both in the laundry room cuz DS wants to put the food in the water bowl. lol

Bob drinks from the same water dish, he refuses to use his own.

Bob has a hard plastic dish that eats out of.
