Well, my 6 month old Boxer, Tyson, was neutered today, although since he had an undescended testicle it was more like a spay. She said they had to dig around in there for quite awhile for it and that he'd probably be pretty sore for a few days. Poor thing is limping on the leg on the side where it was missing. I just got him home, got him a pain pill and put him in his kennel so hopefully that'll kick in soon and he'll start feeling a bit better. At least it's over with and hopefully he'll be good to go for awhile. And they only charged me an extra $30 for the special procedure so the total was $105 which I didn't think was bad at all.

Anyway, I'll post in a few days on how he's doin.

Same thing happened with my GSD, Emmett... His undescended testicle was so high up in there, that the digging around caused his entire leg to turn black and blue and he couldn't use it for a couple days. They charged me $175, so you got a great deal! What an awesome vet!

I'm glad Tyson is home and doing okay. Please KUP on him.

Not a private vet, it's a discount mobile clinic that only does spays and neuters and low cost vaccines.

They typically charge $75 for a regular neuter on a dog 40-70 pounds, he's 50, so it was $30 extra for the 1 missing "huevo" LoL. Was still cheaper than my vet that started with a regular neuter on a dog UNDER 50 pounds at $125 so I was cool with it.

He's doing better today I think. He wants to come out and play poor thing, but doc said pretty much 100% confinement for 4 days, after that just light activity for another 3 days. I'm keeping him on the Tramadol every 8 hours (directions are every 8-12) for the rest of today and then will probably go down to 10-12 tomorrow. He ate a little bit this morning and had some ice cubes as well. He doesn't seem to be in as much pain today though and is more "with it" since the anesthia wore off. I think come tomorrow it's gonna be hard to keep him down LoL. Thank goodness he's crate trained!
