Just wondering if your kiddos have things they do to comfort themselves?

Do people comment on it?

I am just wondering because Liam has lots of little quirks that he does to comfort himself and people are often commenting on it. He has a paci still and is more addicted than ever. We are actually intituting "Nunnie lives in the crib" this weekend. I don't care if he has it for comfort while he sleeps or even if he wants to get into his crib during the day to handle something with his pacifier. But I hate that he *needs* it 24-7 lately. He is getting a rash around his mouth and all his words are garbled because he talks through it. So, anyway, that is just one of them. He also puts his hands at his throat and sorta "pokes" it with his fingers in a rhythmic way (people always ask if his throat hurts). Or he puts his hands down the front of his shirt and holds them there (they ask if he is cold). Or he puts his hands in his pants waistband (thankfully, no one asks about this one . They seem normal individually...but I kinda wonder why he needs so many of them. I will prolly bring it up to his doc at his 2.5 year appt, just since they seem to be increasing.

But do your kids have comfort things that seem quirky?

With Xander it is his cars. He will take them to bed with him as well. He has to have 5 in his hands most of the time.

He does have a teddy bear that is in his crib that he likes as well.

Luckily he never took a pacifer but he is a thumb sucker!!

Billy has his puppy blankie and his paci to comfort him. He also likes the bottom of his feet rubbed when he gets put to bed. However, he likes when his daddy rubs his feet. I guess I don't do it quite right.

I think it is cute that Liam has those little quirks when he is comforting himself.

When Lucy gets a boo-boo, she likes to have it kissed better. That's pretty normal, however, you must kiss the exact spot she hurts. She'll touch it and say "ow" and you'll kiss it but if you're even a little bit off she'll again point and say "ow" until you get it 100% right.
