I actually wrote the company and recieved this in response... I have posted this in my playroom and one other place last week.
Heather:
I realize that there is a lot of controversy in the medial concerning the safety polycarbonate plastic baby bottles. However, our bottles are and have always been safe. Please review the information I am including concerning the safety of polycarbonate plastic baby bottles.
Unfortunately, our media is reporting a lot of misinformation as well as on an extreme study that has been in the news for over 7 years. The controversy concerning the safety of polycarbonate plastic bottles has loomed for over a decade. Polycarbonate plastic has been used to produce baby bottles for over 30 years and hundreds of other consumer products for 50 years. There is an overwhelming amount of research that supports the safety of polycarbonate plastic baby bottles. The media has managed to create a public panic situation.
In addition, to the information below, please visit our website and follow the BPA INFO link to the statement released by the FDA on 4/29/08 confirming the safety of polycarbonate. There has been no recall on any of our products anywhere.
Unfortunately, the media is reporting on a study that is questionable to say the least; lab animals have been exposed to levels of BPA 1000 times greater than what a human would consume by doing things like directly injecting them with the chemical and actually feeding them ground up plastic for several days. Additionally, they are reporting that heating causes the chemical to leach into the milk; but they did NOT tell you that they had to heat a bottle for 24 hours at 175 degrees to make that happen. We have 50 years of legitimate credible scientific research including worldwide government bodies that continue to say polycarbonate plastic is safe.
Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow is extending its baby bottle product offerings to include bottles made of three different materials – glass, polycarbonate(7) plastic, and polypropylene plastic. All three bottle types will maintain the unique internal vent system that makes Dr. Brown’s bottles popular with parents and babies. Our glass bottles are available at Babies R’ Us/Toy’s R’ Us and online at
www.buybuybaby.com,
www.babybungalow.com. Our polypropylene bottles should be on Babies R’ Us shelves by May 1st. This is the link to the study we discussed Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction, Panel Report on BPA

Also, this is the article from the NY times where the Doctor overseeing the brief states he sees no reason for alarm.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/22/health/2...=BPA&st=nyt. I have included an attachment that is an article posted in the NY paper yesterday from the President of the American Council on Science and Health –
None of our products are made of PVC and therefore do not contain phthalates.
There is increasing interest from retailers and moms for a choice in bottle materials. So now, parents will have choices that allow them to continue to use Dr. Brown’s baby bottles. Our new glass and polypropylene baby bottles maintain the same unique attributes of our popular polycarbonate plastic Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow baby bottles on the market today, including the reduction of feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping and gas.
Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow® bottles and sippy cups currently on the market are made of polycarbonate plastic.
Polycarbonate plastic is used to make a wide variety of products, ranging from cell phones, safety glasses and computers to food contact products such as baby bottles, water bottles and food storage containers. Polycarbonate plastic is authorized for food and drink contact application by government agencies worldwide. Polycarbonate contains trace amounts of Bisphenol A, a substance that has been extensively studied and tested for health and safety by both manufacturers and government agencies. These tests have demonstrated that consumer exposure to Bisphenol A does not pose a risk to human health, and FDA continues to support the use of polycarbonate plastic. Polypropylene bottles do not contain Bisphenol A.
Glass and polypropylene plastic bottles will join our polycarbonate bottles, and all three types will be sold at retail. We continue to be comfortable with the overwhelming body of scientific evidence from around the world that deems polycarbonate plastic to be safe for use with baby bottles. However, we believe parents will appreciate having a choice of products.
I’m sorry but we do not offer a refund or exchange program because our product is proven to be safe.
The components are made of Polypropylene, and thus are BPA free.
