We are using the Playtex Ventaire bottles. The one plastic piece at the bottom of the bottle (the clear piece) smells awful! That's ALL I can smell when I unscrew the bottle. No other parts smell except for that one piece..it smells like sour milk! I've scrubbed and boiled and nothing helps the smell. I suppose I could buy new bottles, but I figured I'd ask first-has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to get the smell to go away?

That's really odd! I would throw it away personally.

I have never used that particular bottle, but my sister in law does. I think that piece comes out to be cleaned. Have you taken it out? She always got formula stuck in there and had to clean it out frequently.

I would throw it out if it smells that bad after cleaning it.

Just throw it away. Depending on what store you go to they actually sell replacement vents in the same section that they sell nipples. I'm not sure about the new ventaires, but the old ones you could buy the vents in packs of 2 or 3. I had to replace a handful because after awhile they started dripping.

Yeah, I take the bottle completely apart when I wash them. Scrub scrub, boil boil...and still stinky!
