Is anyone here using soy formula? Why did you decide to try soy? How has your baby reacted since you started the soy?

My baby is bf and ff right now and she is just so fussy. She throws up my milk regularly, she is always gassy, gets the hiccups all the time, and she gets really fussy after every feeding. She is fussy so often that it disrupts her sleep and I'm afraid she won't reach her milestones on time because we are always holding her or bouncing her because she is upset. I am thinking of pumping for a few days and replacing all her feedings with soy but that is a big step and could really hurt our bfing so I don't know if I should try it or not.

it sounds like she may have reflux! the throwing up regularly & hiccups are def. signs of reflux - well, have been for my two anyway. I would see your ped to discuss reflux!

I was thinking reflux could be the problem too. The only thing is that she doesn't spit up that often. It's really more pain and she does get the hicups a lot. She also won't eat much at a time, never more than 3 ounces and I think even less when she nurses. So she eats really often and never sleeps more than an hour at a time or so.

I have an appointment on Wednesday so we can make sure she is gaining weight well and hopefully her doc can give us a better idea of what's bothering her. He has suggested probiotics so I'm going to buy some of those as see if those help.
