So as of today we have switched from the powder to the premixed. While on the powder we used room temp water so we never had to heat or keep cold. Now that we are on the other stuff I'm wondering how that will work when we go somewhere. Do you guys have any tips on this?? I mean what about short trips with like one bottle and long trips for a few days?

we used the liquid type with my dd, we would either make up bottles and just put them in a cold pack thing or buy the premade bottles that are just room temp, they are kind of expensive but they make things a lot easier sometimes! my dd was never picky about the temp so if we could warm them we would but if not she would drink them cold.

Yeah, I agree with Kimmie. I would buy the premade bottles for when you're out and about. When your home just use the larger containers. It's expensive but stock up on coupons. What type are you using? When I was pregnant with DD and DS I had everyone I know register for Similac and I got checks all the time! I think that Similac took a hit with the recall because now I get $10 checks. If you're using Similac I can put some aside for you. I'm using a different brand now.

I also wanted to add...next time you're at the pediatrician hit them up for some free samples. They usually have cases of the premade bottles sitting around! DD couldn't take the premade (it made him projectile vomit) and I know his doctor always had many more samples of the premade then the powder.

I usually pack a little lunch bag like thing with ice packs. I take it out about 15 min before he is ready to eat. He is not real picky but they can not be super cold.
