evan is nine months..going on ten months in two days. he won't hold his bottle. its so frustrating, not because i dont want to hold it but because, i want him to learn this so he can start learning how to use a sippy cup!!

anyone else's baby not holding a bottle? and what are ways to get them to do it and also how did you or how will you teach your little one to use a sippy cup?

My baby is not that old yet but I have a friend w/ a baby that is 11 months old and i think she didnt hold her bottle until about a month or so ago. My first one Blake didnt ever hold his bottle but it might have been because he was breastfed also.

My older dd Alexis never held her bottle but she would hold a sippy cup with handles. Some babies just don't want to feed themselves.

I can't offer any advice (if Eric was holding his bottle already, he'd be a genius ) but I just wanted to pass on some support! Hopefully he will take to sippy cups even if he won't hold his bottle.

My DD is 9 months old and never ever even tries to hold her bottle. I've been giving her a sippy cup since about 6 months and she has always held the sippy though.

Ally doesn't. She is seven months. We give her a sippy cup of water or watered down apple juice sometimes. Sometimes we help her drink and then let her try it. She does OK with it. I'd say give him a sippy cup and try it out. He doesn't need to hold his bottle to be able to use a sippy cup.
