I'm planning on using bottles to feed my baby when I'm not breastfeeding, but what do I need besides the actual bottles? I've seen TONS of little accessories that go with the bottles. What do I actually need?

You might want to keep and extra set of replacement nipples incase they get worn down.

I use my dishwasher for cleaning so I don't use brushes at all. But, what I've found really great is the little rack/holder that the parts go in for inside the dishwasher. It really keeps the parts from bouncing all around in there during the cycles. Also, I have a drying rack because for whatever reason, plastic stuff just doesn't dry fast enough inside the dishwasher and I wash bottles every day so I need them to dry quickly so they are ready to use again. The racks are not expensive...got them at Walmart. They are made my Munchkin.

Welcome to the board!!!

I would recommend getting 1 or 2 of several different kinds of bottles and nipples. My dd wouldn't use the nipples on the bottles we got and she wouldn't use the type of bottles I got either...so my dh ended up going out late one night to get some different bottles!! If you have a couple different styles you can see what he/she likes and then buy more of those the next time you are out and about.

I don't have a dishwasher and we don't use the drop-ins so I have a bottle brush...it has a nipple brush in the handle.

I also got some medela microwave sanitizer bags...they came in handy to sanitize the bottles....I sanitize the bottles and the bottle brush every week.
