My daughter has a huge problem with spitting up. Is there any formula that is especially good for this?

I tried Similac Isomil, but she didnt have regular BM after that and she always seemed to be constipated. She was originally Enfamil Lipil

Talk to your ped about the constipation. We tried adding 1/2 tsp of dark Karo syrup to each bottle, but that didn't help. Then we started doing 1/2 oz prune juice with 1/2 oz water before every bottle. He almost immediately started having regular bm's. So then we backed down to every other bottle, then to twice a day, now we are to once a day.

Blake is also on Isomil because he was spitting up a lot with Similac Advance. Isomil has worked great for it. You could try Nestle Good Start or Enfamil Gentlease. I've heard good things about both. We tried the Good start but Blake couldn't keep it down. I think he has a milk allergy because anything milk-based he throws up, but soy he does great on. Sometimes you just have to pick your battles. I'd rather deal with constipation that we can manage vs. him throwing up. And I don't want to keep switching formulas because that will only mess with his belly even more.

Before switching formulas, talk to your ped for suggestions first.

We've put Miranda on Enfamil AR and in about 48 hours, she has totally changed...Barely any spit up...which is huge for us...The constipation thing is coming on though...so we give her prune juice and hopefully it won't happen...

Enfamil AR, it's just regular formula with rice cereal already added.

You could either buy the Enfamil AR or just at the rice cereal to the bottle. Some people and doctors are really against putting rice cereal in the bottle so you might want to talk to the ped first.

Enfamil AR is good for spitting up but it's milk based. We have Emily on Enfamil Prosobee for her spitting up. It works great but I do have to give her 2 oz of juice mixed with 2 oz of water everyday.

My son had a problem with what seemed like all the formula out there and I finally foun Alimentum, it's by Similac, and it works wonderful! He has never had a problem with it. It's good for babies with food allergies and colic too. But my son has never spit up or had a problem with BMs since he's been on it.

I have Rylynn on enfamil A.R. I know that it is the same as adding cereal, but this works much better for her. I usually make 5 bottles for the whole day so I add a couple of scoops of gentlease because she does get consitpated on just the A.R.

When it hits the stomach acid it thickens so it will go through a normal nipple.[/b]
