I found out I was pregnant on Feb 8th. My husband and I have been trying on and off for about two years with no luck. I have had problems with weight and irregular periods, so my Gyno put me on birth control for 6 months to help regulate me. During this time i joined weight watchers and lost 30lbs, which felt GREAT! I took my last active pill on Jan 2nd and on Jan 7th I ended my cycle and started taking this FirtilAid pill (http://www.fertilaid.com/) which is an herbal pill to help in fertility. I'm not sure what worked the pill, weight loss, the fertilAid, or a combo, but all I know is I'm 7weeks pregnant and incredibly excited.
I had my first prenatal visit last Wednesday. They took some blood work and a culture. I got to meet my Midwife, Mary Jo. She is so nice makes me feel comfortable and was very helpful. I was not sure if I would like having a Midwife, but she will deliver in the hospital with a delivery nurse. She herself was a delivery nurse before she became a midwife. I go back in two weeks my first ultra sound. I can't wait to see! It's been so unreal. I haven't had many symptoms other then bloating and tender breast. My hopes are high and my fingers crossed...
I'm working my way through week 8 and finding that I now get a little nauseous from time to time. I haven't actually puked, which is GREAT! Though I found that if I eat a bunch of small meals through out the day I can avoid the nauseous feeling all together. Other then that and feeling a little weak I feel like myself most of the time. It's almost hard to believe there is a baby growing inside of me. I go next Thursday for my first Ultra Sound and can't wait. It's going to make thing seem so much more real.
I had my first U/S on 03/05/09. It went very well, the baby's heart was just beating a way at 173bpm. It looked like a little strobe light on the screen. My husbands draw dropped, he was totally amazed. We are so excited to finally see our little peanut. I go back to the doctors on the 16th for my second visit.
