I started having regular contractions on Saturday night at about 3 am. I got DH at about 3:30 and we headed out to the hospital. Once there they hooked me up to the toco and found I was having contractions at about 2-3 min apart. They started the Magnesium and things began to slow down a bit. They also took some blood to send to the lab, these came back showing elevated liver enzimes. This is when they admitted me to monitor. I went back up to the floor I had previously spent 6 weeks on for PTL. They tested my levels again on Monday and my liver enzimes were elevated more than the previous ones had been. It was determined at that time that the babies were to be delivered on Tuesday morning via C section. The C section itself was fairly uneventful. The girls were born at 10:29 am (Sophia Lilly) and 10:30 am (Olivia Rose). I was able to look at Sophia for about 5 seconds before they took her up to the NICU. Olivia was taken immediatly to NICU so I did not get to see her at all until Wed. Once the section was done they removed the cerclage and I went back to a room in L&D until late that evening, I had boot placed onto my legs to help with the swelling from my liver going all wonky.
I finally got to see my girls on Wed. once they were able to remove my boots and the oh so pleasant cath. I did make a really bak choice forgoing pain medication, I somehow thought it would make it so I could see the girls sooner, but it made things take longer because I had a difficult time getting up to use the bathroom. DH pushed me down to the NICU so I could see my Olivia, she had a CPAP on and lots of IV's. I then went upstairs to see Sophia, she had been moved to the intermediate floor that morning and was able to breat 100% on her own from birth on, she was under the billi lights.
Both girls are doing awesome, Olivia is a 7 day NICU grad and is now up in the same room as her sister. We are working on feedings with both the girls... this is thier last obstical before coming home
