Well, after going for my 39 week check on the 1st April, they said she was big, 42 weeks +, and nothing for a week more, 0cm and 0%, so on the Friday we decided to go to the airport to pick up my parents. As I got out of the car at the airport I felt a warm sensation and thought I´d either wet myself or got pins and needles!!, well it turns out it was my waters, so I had to buy sanitary towels at the airport chemists (funny looks from the staff!). Then we went home (an hours trip) and to the hospital. I had broken waters, but no contractions BUT 2.5 cm dilated!, how did that happen? so I stayed overnight and still no contractions so the following morning, saturday 4th, they started to induce me with Oxyticin. I got an epidural at 4cm (at about 3pm, I sent DH out to eat as he was pacing up and down and kept kicking the drip stand!) as they had to really start the contractions fast as she was already 24 hours with the bag broken. I started at 2.30pm and at 4.45pm I said to DH to have a look as I thought I was progressing well (DH is a Dr and got worried and ran to get the midwife, it turns out I was 10cm and ready to push). In the delivery room the Dr was DH colleague, so that was nice. Ana began to protest and her HB dropped with the contractions, so I had a suction cap delivery. She had the cord round her neck and shoulders, 2 complete turns, and the placenta was coming away. I was really calm, but everyone else was a bit worried!. I had 5 stitches which was OK and they havent hurt at all. She was 6lbs 3oz, not 9, but they think she stopped growing as the placenta was breaking up. She was 21 inches long, and like a scrawny rabbit!. We came home on the 6th and she is breastfeeding like a champion. We love her so much its unbelievable!. All in all, even with the complications, it was a great, fast birth and not what I was expecting: for the better!

Scarry, glad she came out safely. Now she is probably healthier than inside cuz the placenta issue! Yay for babies! Congrats.
