This story begins on Sunday early morning the 24th, I woke up soaked and thought my water had broken. I waited for contractions and had a few but nothing consistent. I called my midwife at 12:00PM to tell her I thought my water had broken, she told me that contractions usually start within 24 hours of your water breaking, to call back when they were 5-6 minutes apart. Well they never got to that point that day, and so I figured my water probably haden't broken.
Then Tuesday morning again I woke up soaked, and in a lot of pain, I went to my midwife appointment at 9:00AM and they told me they couldn't check me for dilation because of the possibility of my water being broken and they didn't want to introduce bacteria. So we just had a regular appointment, and baby was doing great. My midwife told me to drink lots of water because if my water had broken it helps to replenish the water.
Well that night I got even more soaked then usual, I woke up at about 11:00AM and took a bath where my contractions started, when I got out of the tub gobs of mucas came out, and contractions started coming every five minutes. I called my midwife at 12:00PM and we decided to meet in an hour. So we got to the birthing center at 1:00PM and as I was getting out of the car I threw up, contractions were getting harder. I went into the bath immediatlly. Bill got in after me being in there for about 10 minutes, I needed him. After a couple hours of me handling the contractions pretty well transition hit and man was it intense! I had to push during the contractions, I didn't do it too hard but definettly needed to push a little. They never checked me for dilation because we were still unsure of my water breaking, after awhile they had me get on my knees to help move things along, and it was even more intense and I started pushing immediatelly, and his head came out right away, and his hand was by his head, he came out just like Serena, it took a couple pushes to get the rest of him out. My water did not break, and he wasn't in the bag of waters so we know that it was definettly my waters that had been breaking at night. But because we didn't have any cervical exams he came out healthy, even though the first time it broke was three days before he was born. Kenan Daniel was 8lbs 4ounces and 20.5 inches long. We were surprised he was a boy, we really thought we were having a girl, but I am so in love with my second little boy! Thanks for reading, I know it is a book.
