So after a month of trying to adjust, I've finally found time to sit down and type this!
I was scheduled for induction on May 15th at 6am. Got to the hospital at 5:50...after 3 hours of sleep. Apparently when I was at the hospital 2 wks prior for false labor they used my maiden name and when I was admitted this time, they used my married name....so they had a hard time figuring out which patient number to use so they could monitor me outside the room. So I didn't get my pitocin til almost 7am. Once that was started I started getting contractions every 4-5 mins. They weren't painful, just really uncomfortbale. Around 9am they checked me and I was still at 2-3cm and 50% effaced. So they upped the pit one more time and that started me on 2-3 min contractions but they still weren't painful. So when my doc came in, she checked me again (hour later) I was at 3cm, still 50%. So around noon, the contractions were on top of each other and I wasn't getting much of a break, so I opted for the epi. Once I got that the doc decided to break my water. When she did that, I was at 4cm. So they waited another hour to check me and I was still 4cm. They started talking about c-section since they broke my water and I wasn't progressing. They decided to put and internal monitor in to see how strong my contractions were and to also drain my bladder. My contractions were nice and strong so they weren't worried about that. As soon as my bladder was empty, I started feeling crazy pressure. The nurse was happy to hear that, so she checked me and I was fully dilated, and ready to have my boy! That all happened in 45 mintues!! I pushed 3 times, and let the next contraction do the work and I was able to actually grab him under the shoulders and pull him out myself which was the most amazing thing EVER!! I didn't tear or anything which is amazing! He was born at 2:57pm and weighed 8lbs even and was 21.5 inches long.
After a month he now weighs 9lbs 11oz, and is still 21.5 inches long. He was 7.8 when we left the hospital. So he's gaining like a champ!! Thanks for reading!!
