My tuesday (6/16) started out very busy.. it was the last day of school for the girls, my oldest had her 5th grade graduation and a Choir performance and DD2 had her bday party at school.. luckily My Mom flew in Monday to help.... After school let out we took the kids to the big outdoor outlet mall to hopefully walk my way into labor. We were there for a couple hours and my back started hurting so we decided to go home. My back continued to hurt so about 7pm I called L&D and they said come in to be checked.. so I got the kids dropped off at my neighbors, called Dh to let him know I was going in to get ckecked (He works nights) and My Mom and I headed out there. I got checked around 7:45 and was 4cms, they sent me to walk around the hospital for 1.5 hours and then get checked again. During the walk the back pain got worse but we continued to walk and went back up at 9:30.. I was 7cms so they started an IV but thanks to the greatest OB ever they didnt hook up any fluids, just left the port incase they needed it.... then since my back was hurting so much and being in the bed made it worse they let me bounce on the birthing ball (Yay). The Doc said they would take all of their queues from me. so let them know when I felt like I had to push... so I bounced and Dh arrived at about 11pm and I bounced some more. I felt something change at around 12am so they checked and I was almost 10... the doc then decided to break my water to help get me complete. The contrax got much worse but they put the bed in a way where I wasnt really on my back which helped a bit. It took a bit to finally get complete but I started pushing at 12:40 and he was born at 12:45. He was beautiful and hairy (LOL) and bigger than any of my other babies. I had the best birth experience I could have ever asked for. They didnt interfere with me, or bother me about drugs.. they kept telling me I was doing great and only put one bag of fluids in me (with pitocin) after the baby was born.
Here are his stats!
Lincoln Thomas Bryant Doss
8lbs 2 ozs
20 inches
