I had the strangest feeling the day before my labor started. It was my last day of work and I kept telling everyone that she was going to come that weekend... 2 weeks early, and she did!
I started having contractions on Friday morning and almost immediately they were 5 minutes apart. Of course it was DH's last day of travelling so he wasn't home. My friend brought me to the hospital and DH met us there. I was only 1cm dilated but 100% effaced when we got there so the resident started to send me home for a while. Then a different doctor wanted to check me and I was 3cm. So he told us to stay. We were so relieved since it seemed like things were moving fast. I got an epidural and they broke my water after that.
However after that it was anything but fast. They started me on pitocin but it didn't really speed up the labor. We were there a whole 24 hours and I only went from 3-7cm. The doctor was going to check me one more time and if I wasn't dilated anymore we would have to start talking about a c-section. Thankfully, I was 10 cm! She asked me if I wanted to do some practice pushes... which turned into real pushes and she was out in about an hour! Pushing was by far my favorite part! It was amazing. Logan was born at 6:36pm weighing 6 lbs 15 oz. She was a lot smaller than they thought. She is such an amazing baby. We are so lucky to have her.
