10 month old DD eats:

1. organic baby food ("Earth's Best" brand), stage 2 jars
2. Cheerios
3. Diced apple pieces
4. Peas (out of their "skins")
5. Yogurt
6. Mashed potatoes
7. Mashed avocado
8. Mashed banana
9. Lentils

However, two moms I know give their 11-12 month olds real meat (deli), big chunks of bread, cookies, apple juice, pasta and eggs.

Should I be feeding her those things too? What else should I be giving her? What's the ratio of breads to fruits to veges? I have a terrible diet myself so I'm hazy on what's appropriate.

Help!

No eggs, nuts or fish til they are a year old. I give my son wheat, salt free saltine crackers, deli meat, 90% of the Gerber finger foods, juice, over cooked pasta, over cooked carrots (or the canned ones are really soft).

If she can handle the cherios herself, meaning pick them up and chew them without a problem then start giving her more finger foods. For example instead of mashing the banana cut it into small bite sized chunks and let her pick it up. Also I would go up to stage 3 foods.

Thanks Jen! I got DD some Gerber Puff Rice Wheels and graham crackers this weekend, and she did pretty well with them. Will be trying the pasta and overcooked veges this week... should be an adventure....
