I'll jump in here b/c I make all our babies' food. The only thing I do buy is applesauce (no sugar, organic) to add to meat or chicken or veggies. When I feed them breakfast, they get homemade applesauce. The only reason I buy some is b/c I only use a scoop or 2 to mix it with.

Another helpful hint, as your baby gets bigger & wants to eat more than an ice cube size serving, freezing the food in a gladware container (4oz size) make it easy to stick in the micro & heat it up.

Yep Yep I make all our baby food at home too. I did it for DD when she was little and now I am doing it for DS.

Just a word of warning do NOT make Carrot and spinach at home!!! It is something about the nitrate leavels in them that can cause a nasty diaper rash. My pedi warned me about this.

O' and the ice cube tray thing is great! Did you know that 2 regular size ice cubes = 1 jar of baby food?

The only thing I don't make into baby foods are meats. That is just nasty for me to handle! I introduce meats once baby can eat some table foods around 9-10 months of age. I just do small bites of plain chicken or ground beef.

I love making my daughter's baby food. It makes me feel productive, and it feels really good knowing exactly what she's getting. No preservatives, nothing extra, just pure fruits and veggies.
