Max had applesauce for breakfast this morning. Today was his second time. He ate about 1.25 oz and then took a nap. When he woke up both of his cheeks looked red and maybe puffy (I don't know if that part is in my head).

He's acting fine and shows no problems other than this possible rash. At first I thought it was a heat rash from sleeping but he's been up for 30 minutes and it hasn't faded.

What do you think?

My LO's cheeks get really red a lot when they do they feel very dry so i've just been putting on lotion. I'll be checking back to see what others say I never considered it could be a reaction to the food.

Well that's what worried me about is that his skin has never discolored before. And of course being only the second time he had applesauce.

I should add that he does not have a fever or feel warm.

Actually...maybe it's a drool rash? From laying in his own drool while he napped?

I would think it may be from the applesauce since this is the second time it has happened after he had some.

did he ever have applesauce before with no rash?
have you switched detergents lately? maybe his face against material washed in something different ??

I have noticed Katie's cheeks get red when she is bothered by her teething lately...maybe that is it ?

I am a big help huh?......sorry !

He's been real fussy lately, so teething is a possiblity.

The only other time he has applesauce was yesterday and it was a small amount.

I put some Aquaphor on it and it's less splotchy but it's still red all over his cheeks.

Landon's cheeks look like that and so did Hunter's. It was just from drooling and our dry dry house

I would guess it's from dry skin...that's kind of what it looks like.

Mu oldest (Kaylie) has very sensitive skin and whenever she ate and got food one her face she would get a little rash from it. It was not an allergy just an irritant.

Did you wipe him down really well after feeding? I use to put a little lotion on DD after I cleaned her up just to sooth her skin.
