I have a happy healthy almost 6 month old who HATES solids. Refuses to eat ANYTHING other than nursing. Ive tried it ALL. Cereal, applesauce, carrots, GB, Pees....he just refuses after the first bite. The ONLY thing this child has eaten other than BM willingly was - my DH's mom made carrot soup and he went CRAZY eating it - then i found out why - it was made with butter and milk....well no freakin wonder he liked it!? Apparently they do things differently in Mexico lol.

So any thoughts? And reccomendations?

it is possible he just is not ready......I wait a few days and try to re introduce something.
Katie wasn't real eager with certain things at first, then after waiting she ate like a champ !

I started with Oatmeal and pears....and it is still her favorite !

Good Luck and keep us posted !

Yes it also sounds to me like he is not ready, but it is a good time to introduce foods.

If it were me I would still attempt to feed him solids once a day. Choose a time a day that he is hungry, but not starving or he will just get frustrated. Just offer him a few bites each day and don't make a big issue out if it. He will get it eventually and really there is no rush, BM is best and giving him everything he needs. If you are getting frustrated wait a couple days and try again.

I don't know that babies palates really like things with butter and cream in them better, I mean if you've ever tasted BM or formula you'd say ICK. Anyway the soup could have just hit him at the right moment. Also you could consider making your own food for him, it's pretty easy and does taste a lot better than jars.

This is a GREAT website to check out
