My baby will be 3 months old next week.

I'm hoping to begin her on rice cereal next month. I've been gearing up for the big day when she tries her first solid food. I've heard of people giving babies cereal in their bottles and by spoon. Which is the best way when beginning cereal?

IMO by spoon....it is good practice....

although some babies do get in their bottles for reflux as directed by their pediatrician.

she is growing so fast !!!!!!!

I agree, spoon is probably better, just so they get used to it.

1 more question!

How long were you on cereal before you moved into the stage 1 foods?

I got the 3 main cereals out of the way for allergy reasons rice, oatmeal, barley....
I think we started after 2 weeks on cereal...then we started with pears. she has not had rice cereal since but has oatmeal either boxed or from a jar almost daily.

I can't wait until Trinity starts cereal !! you know we will want pics !

I'm excited but scared at the same time. I think its gonna take her a while to get into solids. I don't know why, I just have that feeling. I'm hoping she likes it though.

I started Em on cereal in her bottle first but if I put in a lot she wouldn't take the bottle, then I tried giving it to her by spoon and she wouldn't take it at all. So in the end we skipped cereal and went to solids at 4 months.
