How much of a 1st stage baby food jar should my son be eating a day? He started food at 6 months. He only eats half....but sometimes 1 jar worth a day. He is 7.5 months now. We feed homemade baby food but, I size by the jars for comparison.

For the 1st few weeks Abbey was eating 1/2 a jar at a feeding 2 times a day. Now she is up to 1/2 jar stage 2 (they are bigger jars) 2-3 times a day.

I think it is dependent on the baby. Lily is almost 7 months and she doesn't eat too much for solids. I make everything and usually she'll have about an ice cube size portion of something per day, maybe 1.5 cubes. Today she had about 1/4 of a small banana, 2 slices of avocado, and maybe a teaspoon of yogurt with applesauce. I look at solids before age 1 as a tasting/textural experience and not the main source of nutrition, so she doesn't get 3 meals a day or anything.
