Lily likes things a bit chunky, so I tend to mash them up by hand. She doesn't like anything that is smoothly pureed. I sometimes use the blender to puree stuff like peas, but I don't make it too smooth.

With my DD I used the blender. Since DS wont eat baby food I just steam his and cube it....blender was so much easier

I use the Beaba Baby Cook. It steams, and processes the food. I can make it very smooth or chunky depending on what im making. I love it!

Sam had a HORRIBLE gag reflex, still does in fact. So, we did purely smooth until probably 14/15 months when we went straight to table foods after that. He did NOT like surprises in his foods. still doesn't, the only thing he doesn't mind would be cookies and cream ice cream. otherwise, he needs to be able to bite it or it needs to be pudding smooth.

I steamed everything, then used my blender. (except bananas which i just mashed)

I'm hoping Henry will be a little more "normal" in this aspect.
