I take food for the week out of the deep freezer in the garage and put it in the freezer inside. Then at night I pull out what she'll eat for the next day and put it in the fridge. Doesn't thaw well so in the morning I then normally have to pull it out and let it sit on the counter till late morning.
I have never really planned. When he was on more baby foods, I'd just grab a veggie and a meat for dinner, and generally he has oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast. I was naughty and never 100% followed the "wait 3 days" rule - we don't really have food allergies in our family and he was older when I started him, so the risk of food allergies was lower.
Now, he's getting table foods and pretty much eating a modified form of whatever we are eating (so his is cut up a little smaller and less seasoned).
