i cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and then place it meat side down in a dish with about an inch of water. then i bake it at 400 degrees until the skin get brown and starts to pucker. cool - scoop out meat and puree.
I've only made it once. Cut it, scooped out the seeds, skinned it, cut into small pieces, boiled until tender and pureed........NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! I have a bad oven so me baking it would easily take 1.5 hours so I wasn't wanting to bake it but it was so so so hard to deal with. I'm lucky I didn't cut off a finger
