i cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and then place it meat side down in a dish with about an inch of water. then i bake it at 400 degrees until the skin get brown and starts to pucker. cool - scoop out meat and puree.

I've only made it once. Cut it, scooped out the seeds, skinned it, cut into small pieces, boiled until tender and pureed........NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! I have a bad oven so me baking it would easily take 1.5 hours so I wasn't wanting to bake it but it was so so so hard to deal with. I'm lucky I didn't cut off a finger

I cut it in half, scooped out the seeds, and put it in the slow cooker with an inch or two of water. Just cooked it until it was tender and then pureed it.
