My DS is 8 ..almost 9 months old and for the past month or so he has refused solid foods... He just had his two bottom teeth come in, but still won't eat.. He refuses to open his mouth for the spoon. He will eat Baby Mum Mums' though but I can't have him only eating that.....
How can I get him to eat more food? Also what types of food is he allowed at this stage? I've been hearing so many different opinions. The doctor and the public health nurse both are disagreeing...
Also Stage 2 food is still to chunky for him to. I havn't tried giving him much finger food, because I'm really worried about him choking himself...We had an experience with bananas were he got a chunk off...I took it away from him right away though - too nervous..
You should seriously try looking into Baby Led Weaning, he may be eating the mum mums because he is the one in control and it is more fun for him. The idea of BLW is that the baby goes at his or her own pace and learns how to eat real food from the start, no need for purees or baby cereal. There is actually going to be a live chat with the author of the book on this tomorrow if you would like to ask direct questions about it. Let me know if you would want to know more. I have been doing this with my son and he LOVES eating and will eat anything you put in front of him really. He gets so excited about meal times and so do we, it's soooo much fun!
