I guess it depends how you feel? Has she had meat before? After I introduced veggies, I started making meat meals immediately. Kirsty pretty much has had all types of meat at some point. Even though she is onto lumpier foods, I still blend down meat a little.
My pedi recommended I wait until a year, but didnt really give me a good reason. I like meat, so I figure she'll like it too. Did you start with chicken? Do you think it matters? I appreciate your insight. Thanks.
Hmmm I wonder why you were advised to wait until a year! It's not a common piece of advice, in fact, I've never heard anyone being advised this aside from you. It's completely up to you though, no one can tell you what is best for your baby.
I started with chicken, then tried all meats as you would with new foods - keep them a few days apart. You will know which veggies she is ok with by now, so try new meats with her favourite veggies. I don't know that it matters which you try first.
Meats we have used so far: chicken, minced beef, stew, cod, salmon, pork, lamb, sausage (she loves sausage!)
