I've heard a lot of moms say "Well, I hate peas (or whatever) so I won't ask baby to eat them!"

Do you avoid foods for baby that you don't like? Or do you just feed them everything?

I really try to feed Joel everything regardless of whether I like it. For instance, I don't like fish, but I would like him to eat it. Same with veggies/fruits I don't like.

I try to offer a wide variety, whether I like or don't like the food. It can be difficult though as I may not *want* to cook a food I dislike, but as you say, I want her to have a varied taste! I don't particularly dislike many foods

I feed Ben everything. He loves tomatoes and I won't touch them. I just want him to be less picky than I am.

For the most part he eats what he eat, and I don't specially prepare things I don't like just for him to try it... but if there is something I don't particularly care for or my husband doesn't and it is there, we will let him try it. He is going to eat what we eat after all so he may as well get used to it. There aren't a whole lot of things that neither of us like though.

I try to vary their diets, whether I like the food or not. I didn't do that with my son, and he dislikes most of the foods I didn't try with him as an infant such as zucchini, turnips, carrots, peas, beans, lentils. These are all things I'm trying with the twins right now.

I try Amara with a variety of foods even if I don't like them. Like squash and cauliflower. I'm not a fan but she really enjoyed them earlier on.

I'm a fussy eater & not particularly adventurous with food & I don't really want Zach & Mischa to be the same so I give them both a very varied diet, even foods I wouldn't normally eat myself.

ANG- I love the cartoon on your siggy .

For my kiddo's diet I try to offer him a little bit of everything. I know it takes several times for them to really figure out if they do or don't like it so I feed away. He's more picky about texture anyway. He will -not- eat any pureed foods now. Mashed he'll eat.. so we still do mashed banana and stuff like that (avocados are great but so expensive right now) but no purees.

So far the only things he's really pulled a face at are prunes (did this with purees, I didn't push that one) and cranberries. I had some cranberries on hand for a fruit salad so I put them in his mesh teether.. oh man the face!

Kirsty has graduated fully from baby foods as well. I have a few meals left in the freezer but she just wont allow us to spoon feed her and they are "spoon" meals. In one respect I'm happy she is self-feeding, but I also hate throwing food out!!

There isn't much that I don't like, but yes we introduce all different things to Grace. Even if we're not having veggies with our dinner, for example, I'll make sure to steam some up for her.

I do that as well Amber. I try to ensure Kirsty always has veggies with her dinner!

The only thing I won't give my dd is jarred pureed peaches just b/c the smell is disgusting to me. Otherwise, she eats a large variety including things I don't like.
