I started Dylan on cereal about 2 days ago and now he has diaper rash. But I know he is teething and has had diaper rash off and on. Should I stop the cereal assuming thats whats causing the rash? Or just keep on the cereal and if the rash goes away then we are fine? I know that one sign of allergies is diaper rash but I cant tell whether its from cereal or from teething.

I would say it wouldnt hurt to stop for a week or two even and see if it clears up. you have lots of time right now so you can spare a few weeks to experiement like that. I didnt start Cohen on cereal till 5 months and one week and he broke out in a rash on his cheeks(he has had a rash since 2 months but it got MUCH worse). So i also stopped for two weeks to see if there was any change. For us, we discovered that it was eczema and stopping solids didnt change anything, but it was nice to know for peace of mind.

I agree with Tanya. You might want to stop for a week and see if the rash clears up. He may be allergic to the cereal, and if that is the case than you might have to switch to a soy cereal, or something like it.

I hope that Dylan's rash clears up soon and that you get to the bottom of this! (Lol, no pun intended!)
