Hi ladies, for almost a year my DD has been labeled as Failure to thrive. Well, they have said that its not that... shes just tiny and that shes allergic to milk. (she's almost two and has had milk based everything)
I just found this out yesterday and now trying to learn how to cook and eat without milk. Wondering if anyone has had to change a families way of eatting and may have suggestions?
Are there any really good sites that can teach us how to change from milk to soy or rice milk? What to look for? (My gorcery store visit is going to be a challenge.)

she's allergic to milk and i have to cut everything with milk in it and learning what has milk in it is really hard considering I have used milk for everything in the past.

Hi! We're new to the dairy allergy in my family, too (although I've always suspected it). We have "official" testing next week..but I've been researching in the meantime. A great site with shopping tips (not a lot of recipes, but you can find a lot on vegan/vegetarian sites) and some wonderful advice is here:

http://www.godairyfree.org/

When I found this site I felt new hope...especially thanks to those shopping tips and subsitution tips!! It's soo helpful!!

Good luck! IF you have any questions (or just want to talk, I'm still new to this, though I grew up with a dairy allergy, too...my daughter is also FTT due to allergies)...please PM or email me!!!

Sadie
