for you experienced mommies...how do you know when to replace bottles with food for a meal? the daycare said that after they gave gracie her cereal and her bottle yesterday, she was still acting hungry like an hour and a half later and gave her a little bit more cereal. i was completely fine with this, but i am confused because i don't know when it is okay to give her food instead of formula!

IMO.....I think that you should give her the cereal as meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner or just dinner if you are starting off and then bottles as normal. I think that the cereal is just in addition too but not to replace her milk.

I agree--I would do solids at meals only and if she is still hungry then I would do a bottle.

Solids should be given in addition to formula/BM...not instead of them. Most of thier nutrition should still be coming from BM/formula right now, so the solids are just an added bonus.
