My name is Britanie . I have a 5 month old daughter named Nevaeh .
I just started her on Sweet Potatoes today She loooved them !
I have some questions so hopefully you'll be able to help me out .
- How many times should I feed her in 1 day ?? She is still bf and she feeds every 2-3 hours
- How long can a jar of food sit in the fridge for before it goes bad ?
- How long do I wait until I can introduce another food ?
Ya my Jan PR Mommies are finally starting to trickle over here!!!!
This is just what I have learned starting solids in the last week or so. I asked those same questions ot my dr lol so I hope this helps.
We started off just feeding at dinner time say around 5pm and then once we did that for a day or so on the same veggie we went to lunch also.
I think the Gerber plastic containers say that they can sit in the refrigerator for 2-3 days before you have to toss it and that was one of the reasons that I added in feeding him for lunch also because I didnt want to throw away all that food.
I have been waiting about 3 days in between foods. The dr said that after one feeding or two feddings of the new food you will definately know if there is an allergy.
yuppers! it will make it all watery and such from the saliva........
so I'll brb I def. have A LOT of baby food to be throwing out in the fridge...... He only eats a couple table spoons at a time so I have had a few jars going. . . .
hi, jarred food is generally good for 3 days, but you should check with the manufacturer. Some of them have it on the lids, and they differ from company to company. for exampel beechnut says meat is only good for 2 days, while gerber says its good for 3.
I always give a new food in the morning/afternoon becuase this way I know if he is unusually fussy(since he is always fussy at bedtime so I dont like to give him new foods for supper since I wont know if its from the food). They say to wait 3-7 days between new foods. So I give a new food for 3 days and then on the 4th day give another new food. They suggest this because it can take up to 3 days for an allergy to show up so this way you will know which food caused it.
