How long did it take for your baby to start taking a whole container of baby food? We use the Gerber stage 1's in the plastic containers, we have just been eating solids a week and it seems like he can almost finish off a container. It was just half a container until last night and then he ate almost the whole thing for dinner tonight maybe it was 3/4 th's, along with a few spoonfulls of bannana's.

Again, I think it depends on the baby, and what else they are eating. I can't say for 100% sure, but if they are eating other foods at a meal they shouldn't be eating the whole jar.

Aiden is 8 months old and his meal consists of 3 tbsp. cereal, 1/3 jar of fruit, 1/3 veggies and sometimes 1/3 meat.

If your baby ONLY has veggies or fruit or whatever at a meal, then it is ok to eat the whole jar. (Usually around 7 or 8 months). If the baby is eating more than that, they shouldn't have the whole jar at a meal because the more they eat at a time, the higher the risk that the baby will be overweight. At least, that is what the doctor told me. So, like I said, I have no clue...I just felt like rambling!

Cohen JUST started eating a jars worth and he is 9 months)well a few days short). I cant really be sure if its a jars worth though really becuase I give him different things each meal like Rusha. For breakfast he usually has just cereal but if he still seems hungry after 4-5 tablespoons(which he usually doesnt) then we give him some fruits. But for his other meals, we usually give about 1/4 jar of meat with about 2/4s jar of veg and if he wants more, he gets more fruit.
