Is there a reason to give baby juice? My DD is five months now and at her four month appointment the doctor talked about rice cereal and level one food but never mentioned juice. I was under the impression that juice wasn't such a healthy option but maybe I am wrong. Anyone know?
my doc said it was no more nutritional than water and that she would prefer i gave him water over juice and I read that as well. Added to the fact that there is alot of sugar in juice even if its a really good brand, I am not giving it to my son yet and dont plan to until atleast a year old.
my ds is 4.. and we have been giving him juice since his first.. we still do one ounce of juice to 8 ounces of water.. I decided with my dd not to do juice at all.. just water and milk.. it is unecisary imo and she eats fruit.. I rather her get it from a natural source
oh I was told though if you do decide you should wait till 6 mos and no more than 4 ounces a day
We dont' do much juice anymore. Doc told me to give him a couple ounces a day when he was about 2-3 months old because of constipation./ but now that he's eating fruits and veggies he rarely gets juice anymore.
Blaise has been getting juice since he was about 3 months old. He loves juice. And if it wasn't healthy for a baby, then they wouldn't give juice to them with WIC. And they start giving juice at 4 mths. I took Blaise to the Dr. for his 6 months shots, and the Dr. said he should be getting at least 4 oz of juice a day.
