Jill mentioned something about this earlier this week. But I was at the store today buying baby food and I saw Earth's Best has stage 2 with spinich in it. It was spinich and potatoes. Why would they sell it if it were bad for them at this age?? I'm just curious what you girls think. I got some awesome veggie combos today!! For lunch today we had summer veggie dinner which has corn, succhini, geen beans, brown rice, carrots, garbonzo beans. It smells really good too! Donovan liked it alot.

i don't know.... i think the same about giving her yogurt when they've said not to give them any milk products before age 1. the only thing i can come up with is that the baby food companies process it better than making it homemade. i've tried to steam spinach and puree it at home and she had a reaction to it. or maybe the spinach/potato combo has more potato than spinach in it. potatoes kinda act like a sponge, so maybe it absorbs the spinach's bad stuff.... really i have no clue.

Well what I heard about cow's milk is that it doesn't actually do anything bad to them, they jsut want babies to be on formula until a year and I guess mothers who start cow's milk sooner have a tendancy to cut back on formula. But I'm going to give the spinach/potato a try and see how it goes!

Ive heard the same as Laura. Cows milk is also harder on there systems but if its just dairy in the yogurt its such a small amount. Plus there is something different with yogurt. I am lactose intolerant but I can eat yogurt with out having any problems after.

There are lots of things in store baby food that I thought we werent supposed to give them! Its so confusing. Like I read no berries till a year but there are strawberries and rasberries in jars for 6 months up!

my doc said 9 months is the average age ppl introduce dairy as in cheese and yogurt. I have never heard it being suggested to wait till a year for milk products, just milk itself.

Im not really sure about this one and cant find anything online Ill keep looking and see if I can come up with something for you.

I wonder too because a couple of Dylans Stage 2's have things like citrus, pineapple, spinach and Im not sure if they are ok to give him at this age. My thought on it is if it wasnt safe or ok they wouldnt make them in stage 2's but Im not sure lol
