Hello I'm new here and have some questions.
My son is 12 months and will only eat baby food stage 2 meals and stage 3 fruit/veggies.

What is your schedule on how your child eats and does he/she eat just 3 meals a day. How many cups/bottles of milk does your child drink?

Any help would be great.

Hi and welcome!

My youngest is 2 1/2, so I don't remember exactly where each of them were at the point you're talking about.

But each child is sooo different. Feed him what he'll eat, and expose him to the rest-- he'll get to them in his own time. So offer him some fresh fruit, cut into toddler sized bites. Eventually he'll take a bite. Or a pretzel at the mall, or french or sweet potatoe fries. Or a waffle, pancake or.... you get the idea.

Also, try Gerber graduates. They make some that are made to be finger food.

He may just be hesitant about this big new step. Try to relax--no one has yet graduated from high school still on Stage 2.

Well at 12m my dr told me there is no reason for them to be on baby food and they should be eating table food but all children are different. You child should at least be getting some finger foods (cheese, cherrios, fruit). I feed him 3 medium sized meals a day but in between I let him snack if he wants something. Everything is healthy though, I dont let him snack on stuff that I might snack on.

He drinks about 2 sippy's of milk (about 12-16oz of milk) and then I give him water downed juice (about 3/4 water, 1/4 juice). I just give him as much as he wants.

I agree with Alice though, check out the Gerber Graduates. There is alot of good stuff that's easy for toddlers to eat.

Hi. I too have a 12 month. Unfortunately, my DD is still very attached to her bottle... and, embarrasingly, I think her parents are attached to her bottle as well. She gets it whenever she wants at this point and there are times when we give it to her when she is really crabby...it soothes her (that is why I think we are attached to it)

My DD is just getting off gerber 3 sweatpotatoes.

As far as schedule, my DH was home during the day until the end of May and he had absolutely no set schedule Because I like a scheduled routine, I have since tried to get her on a schedule as best we can. Things are still in transition due to the new baby mixing things up a bit. lol
But, she usually has dry cereal, or toast and fruit for breakfast around 9am. (depends on when she wakes up. We don't have a specific wake up time this week. Starting Monday, she will.) Then, at 11:30 I get her ready for lunch. She bats around the idea of eating for awhile and usually doesn't want to eat until about 12. She will then have a small snack around 3pm, usually a banana or pears. Dinner comes in at about 7:00. So far, Dinner really hasn't worked for us. She is not a big eater and she tends not to want anything until about 8:30. Again, she drinks a bottle of whole milk just about whenever she wants (which I know needs to stop) and I think this is keeping her from wanting to eat anything.

My daughter is one and has not been on baby food for around 2 months now. She took 4 bottles a day until about 2 weeks ago when she dropped her morning nap, so now she only gets 3. I put milk and watered down juice in her sippy cup, which she usually has around her most of the day. She eats 3 meals, and eats whatever we are eating.

I just wanted to share my advice. DO NOT stress about your baby not wanting more finger foods (adult foods). My daughter was on jarred stage 3 food until she was almost 15 months old. I asked 3 doctors their opinions and they said as long as I am offering her adult foods and trying to get her used to them, then she can eat the jarred. The jarred food has way more nutrients then adult food anyway, so why not give him the extra vitamins? I would say just keep offering him foods during the day, try a big variety of things, and don't stress about him eatting only certain things, he will move on the "bigger" and "better" things at his own time! Good luck!
