Okay, my son is turning 8 months old next week, and we still can't give him anything other than oatmeal cereal or mixed cereal b/c he gets sooooo gassy! Well, I stopped trying anfd started again today, I mixed 1/2 stage 1 jar of pears with oatmeal cereal, and he had bad gas all day again!!! I am getting really irritated with this whole feeding experience! My daughter was eatting finger foods by 8 months and he's still on just cereal, is this normal? My doctor said as long as he's drinking plenty, which he is, he's fine, but I think he isn't sleeping through the night b/c he isn't full enough from just formula. He's waking up still once or twice for a bottle at night! He has had colic and gas problems for months, but I thought it would end by now.....anyone have any experience with gassy babies? How old were they when you were able to start giving them fruits and veggies????

I know that whenever we started a new food with Lily she would be gassy for a few days. But she wasn't ever in pain or cranky because of the gas. Is your baby in pain due to the gas? Or is it just them tooting away?
If he isn't in pain because of the gas, then maybe you could start giving them some more for a longer period of time. I know fruits would always make Lily gassier. But carrots and peas didn't. Maybe try those?
