I was at wal-mart, and it seemed that their stock was seriously low on Gerber foods. I have a few questions. My daughter, has had her intro. to peas. They then didn't have the reg. peas, so I bought and started her with Tender Harvest Organic peas. I bought those again, but someone told me that Organic is bad, that it's potentially harmful to your baby. I know that this can't possibly be true, otherwise they wouldn't sell it right? Also, can I intermix the organic with the regular?

Thanks so much!

I've never heard of any problem with organic food. In fact, I prefer organic. They don't use any pesticides or inorganic fertilizer and I just feel like the less chemicals the better. As far and introducing and feeding, it's not any different than regular baby food. If she's already had it, go ahead and feed it. If it's new, introduce it like you've been doing. Hope that helps.

Thank you Amy! That helps so much! I wasn't sure about the organic versus not, and I'm all about health and naturalism. This helps a bunch. yay! I was worried that organic was bad. Someone told me that it was, and I thought they were full of it, turns out I was right. lol.

Whoever told you that organic is bad for babies is nuts - out and out - crazy

either that or they were just purposely trying to cause trouble

Organic foods use no pesticides or chemicals and so are as pure as if you grew the veggies/fruits yourself in your garden, mashed them up and fed them to your baby.

I have been using organic food for my son since he was born

We prefer Earth's Best baby foods which is often carried at regular grocery stores as well as Whole Foods and other health food coops.

However, we have also used Gerbers Tender Harvest when that is all that was available.

Organic is the ideal way to eat - as free of chemical additives and pesticides is a healthier choice -

you are doing great for your children when you have fewer man made chemicals in their bodies -

I am just shaking my head over and over that anyone would tell you it would be harmful for your baby

If organic food was bad for anyone then how come all the grocery stores now have aisles with organics and produce and dairy with organic now?

There is a DEMAND for food that is pesticide - free and free of harmful chemicals...

You can read up about orgnic baby food on the web - they have an AWESOME website with FAQs about infant nutrition - and a lot of good information -

I applaud anyone who selects organic baby food - you are not only putting pure foods into your baby - you are supporting organic farmers - those who are not working for corporations like Birds Eye - but who work for themselves - and are small businesses struggling to make it and support families...

I agree!

Kiera(6 month) is on organic baby food and Nick(now 2 yrs) used organic babyfood. I prefer it and refuse to buy anything else.

It's the exact opposite actually. It's non-organic that can be harmful because non-organic is loaded w/ pesticides!

Organic is the best, non-organic is what can be harmful because of pesticides

I think everyone said it already. Organic is best, for babies, (esp. IMHO), and for everyone and nature too.

I also only use the organic food for my son. We have our whole house converted now to all ecosense products! It is so much healthier for everyone!
