okay.. so I have one already.. but I totally forgot how and when

with my ds I started solids when he was 4 mos.. he was still eating every hour then.

my dd seems to be satisfied and is going every 3 hours.. so I am waiting a few more weeks.. but my question

when and how.. when do you give it to them.. I forgot when.. do I do it when she is at the 3 hours and then just give her a smaller bottle after.. do I feed her when she wakes up and then give her my breast.. I so forgot.. any advice here would help..

thanks so much ladies

I always breastfeed first and give solid foods right after. We started with one meal in the evenings. I don't think it really makes a difference when you do it. Feeding solids is just a learning experience at this point and you want to make sure your baby is getting the majority of her calories from breastmilk. (at least 75% until one year.) My son is a great eater so this worked for us. I may do things differently if he didn't take to solid food so quickly.

when? I did at 4 mos with all my girls. How? From a spoon because thier doctor says it's dangerous to drink it from a cup cause they could choke.

I started dd off right around the 3.5 month mark and what i did was give her a little 3 times a day with a 3-4 ounce bottle of milk until she got used to it. Now i feed her a half a jar twice a day with some milk.

Bea, I think you should give her the bmilk first, then try the jar food/cereal. I always give Hannah a 4-6oz bottle first, then I give her a little fruit, or veggie after. Sometimes she eats the whole container, sometimes only a couple spoon fulls.
Good luck, I think its all trial and error at this point.

ds gets 4oz of formula/bm then some cereal/fruit/veggie, then the rest of his bottle
