Well, I've tried it.....I on the first couple days on my next pack (what would have been my sugar pills) I started spotting and having cramps like my period was trying to come. Maybe it will work better for you, no harm in trying....I hear it works on most women.
I would say it depends on the type of pill you are on- I'm on something called estrostep- each week has a different dose- so going from a higher dose on the last week of the month to a lower dose that is meant for the first week of the month may screw you up and you may end up either not being totally protected, or AF could come anyways...
When I was on Ortho, my doctor said I could skip my period lots of times. I would go months without AF just by starting a new pack a week early.
Have you looked at switching your pill to seasonale? With that pill AF only comes 4 times a year I think.
ive never done it, i have reservations about that like you do, but my friend used to do it for months at a time. The only problem she had with it (and who knows, maybe it's unrelated) is that when she actually decided to let AF come, she had extremely painful cramps and heavy bleeding.
