Ok, with my birth control, I'm due for AF, April 3-9, and I *REALLy* would much rather skip it. I know you can just take week 1 of the new pacck instead of Week 4.

Has anybody ever done this? Did it work? Was it worthwhile?

I probably wont because i'm to chicken to do something like that [messing with medication]. And as long as I don't have sex that week [LOL!] I shouldn't bleed that much.

Hi there!

Well, I've tried it.....I on the first couple days on my next pack (what would have been my sugar pills) I started spotting and having cramps like my period was trying to come. Maybe it will work better for you, no harm in trying....I hear it works on most women.

I've thought about it. I'm not to sure. As much as i'd like to control it. If I just don't have sex, that week, I should be alright. LOL!

I've done it b/4 several times and it never hurt anything. My doctor even said it was fine to do every once in a while. HTH

I would say it depends on the type of pill you are on- I'm on something called estrostep- each week has a different dose- so going from a higher dose on the last week of the month to a lower dose that is meant for the first week of the month may screw you up and you may end up either not being totally protected, or AF could come anyways...
HTH!

When I was on Ortho, my doctor said I could skip my period lots of times. I would go months without AF just by starting a new pack a week early.
Have you looked at switching your pill to seasonale? With that pill AF only comes 4 times a year I think.

Wow, you wouldn't think it would be healthy to skip your period being as though it is so cleansing for your body.

ive never done it, i have reservations about that like you do, but my friend used to do it for months at a time. The only problem she had with it (and who knows, maybe it's unrelated) is that when she actually decided to let AF come, she had extremely painful cramps and heavy bleeding.
