I've noticed a lot of us are trying to lose weight and some have been successful. I would really like to lose a lot of weight before TTC. For those whom it's worked for, what diet or lifestyle change are you on? I'm on Atkin's and it works but it's really hard; I'm hoping someone else has a better idea.

i've tried every diet under the sun. slimming world, weight watchers, aktins, slim fast, cambridge and a mix of silly ones but even though i've done well on then losing my 3 stone or more i never keep it off. so in jan when i start my diet i'm doing healthy eating and this time it will be a lifestyle change.

The ONLY thing that has ever worked for me was I did the Jenny craig and worked out twice a day for a min of 2 hrs..LOL that was pre-2 kids under 4!

But what I am doing now is, yesterday I signed up at a local gym with a daycare center, and am going back on jenny craig. I have absolutely no excuse not to go work out now!

Plus starting back up on My fitness pal to help monitor everything!

I tried Weight Watchers online and it did work for me but I found it was too hard to stick with with 2 kids under 2 and a picky eater DH. I do a lot of running around at my job so that's how I get my excercise and I try to have my big meal for lunch and eat something lighter for dinner (I work nights so this is easier for me since I'm not cooking for the family at night). I also really like My Fitness Pal to keep track of weight loss.

I really love myfitnesspal.com! I helped me lose 20 lbs although I still have a little bit to go. It really helps to be accountable for calories in vs. calories out which is really what it is about. But you really have to honest about what you are eating and how much which is quite painful sometimes. lol

I'm not trying to loose weight (I actually weigh less now then I did before getting pregnant), but I amtrying to get back in shape. I was an athlete, and I'd like to get back to that. My gym has a kids daycare thing for kids over 6 months so DS hits that now. Which basically means I'm out of excuses.

Over about the span of 3 years, I lost 115lbs. And then I found out i was pregnant! Doh! But one day I decided to change my life (for both health & other reasons), gutted out my fridge and signed up at a gym. I didn't follow any one plan or do JC/WW/NS...just figured out things that worked for me. In the end, I was eating 4-5 times day and working out 5-6 days for 2-3 hours. For me, it is ALL about calories in/out. At my peak, I was consuming 800-1000 calories and working out/off 900-1200 calories.

I cut out a lot of stuff, but honestly didn't miss it. And i did have days when I ate good ol carbs (special occassions/treat/spluge) but usually it would make me feel super full and so it felt good to go back to eating right/working it off.

After having Vaughn, I lost 100lbs in 7 months. I basically did portion control, more meals a days...lots of fruits/veggies/protein. And TONS of water! Its hard, but I really watch breads/cheese/pasta/rice/carbs in general. They are not my friends and if the scale doesn't budge I know I need to curb it.
