When do you take down Christmas decor?
Is there a reason you do it then?

I usually wait until after New Year's...well the 7th of January to be exact! LOL.....My dad's birthday is Dec 11 and that is when I start putting up stuff for Christmas, it's the signal of Christmas for me and then my Mom's birthday is the 7th of January, which is the signal that Christmas is over.
I know...I'm weird.

Your not weird. Although I have a HUGEEEEEE craving to take it all down and just be done with it, I literally can not until after New Years cuz I was always taught its bad luck for the next year if its taken down before the start of that year.
Yea thats weird.

Lol...you guys are totally NOT weirdos, haha, its nice having customs/traditions - however they come about or were created!!!
We will wait to take down everything after New Years...that's the end of the holiday season for me =) Plus its pretty and I want to leave it up as long as possible! I could probably live with Christmas decor all year round PURPOSELY...but Josh...not so much ;-)

I hardly put up any decorations! lol. So since a lot of my stuff is more just "winter" decorations, I will leave them up probably until February, around Valentines Day.

As long as I don't get a full blown cold it will probably come down Friday/Saturday if DH will help. My parents always kept it up until after New Years, but it was never a bad juju thing.

I normally wait until after the first but just couldn't get into the spirit this year so I took it all down, except the outside stuff.

I don't really have any traditions yet because this is the first year I've decorated. I was considering taking them down this weekend but I'm thinking I would rather do it next week instead.

The OCD part of me is so ready to take the tree down and get my living room back to normal. The ribbons keep getting messed up and uneven and its driving me a bit nuts to look at, lol. I will probably wait til next monday when my hubby is home to put it all in the basement.

i don't know. LOL.
Woody asked i we were taking it down soon, so that might be my hint, but we have NO where to put it once it's down. We were going to buy totes and put the branches in them, but we've spent almost all our savings (oops, darn immigration) and we can't really afford the $50 right this second... Reme's closet it totally full, and ours is approaching full. The toes were going to go in the garage, but I refuse to put trash bags out there since it's not critter proof.

The tree typically comes down New Years weekend but since it didnt go up as early as usual, I'm thinking I'll leave it up till the following weekend.
Outside Christmas Lights and yard decorations are about the same but they are last to be put away since it takes so much longer to take them down.

I am ready to take them down the day after Christmas but DH likes to keep them up until Jan 6th "Little Christmas" so that's what we do. Personally I wish we could take them down New Year's day.
