I love and am grateful for the opportunity and experience to live on Maui. I'm glad Vaughn will be raised with culture outside of his own (for example, learning Hawaiian history & language in school, Hawaiian customs/traditions) and hope he will learn, be curious and explore more about the people in the world around him. But when the time comes to move I'll be ready. Its beautiful and I love the Hawaiian Aloha way...its all about "ohana" which is similar to my roots growing up...but its not paradise 24/7 as some would believe. I don't sit on a beach drinking Mai Tais all day. When I lived in Vegas, people thought I partied it up in the casinos and clubs everyday too. Um, no.

One day I eventually want to head back somewhere near my family. Ok, Josh's fam too since its all within 10 minutes of each other But family is so very important to me and I just can't imagine my children not knowing what it is to be surrounded by a HUGE family and know that you'll never be alone in this world. It is a sense of unimaginable security, and as a child I gained great strength from this - knowing I always had my core family to support, comfort and love me. It made me confident in who I was growing up with a self esteem in myself that I could set out and accomplish anything!

Vaughn and future baby deserve to know that kind of unwavering and unconditional love too.

We love the area that we live. The only downside is the traffic is really bad, especially rush hour!! But aside from that we love that were close to the city but live in the suburbs, and that we get a true 4 seasons each year.
I did kind of have a breakdown yesterday bc I was frustrated w being too close to my family. I really am grateful they're close, but it can really get to be overload too! I wouldn't be opposed to moving in the future (when the housing market picks up and we could actually sell our house rather than give it away)! But I would definetely want to stay in the southeast area!!

It's alright here. I'm not sure where I'd like to live permanently. My husband's from TX and I'm was raised in the NE - primarily upstate NY. We'd like to eventually move somewhere in the mid-West but we're not sure.

I do, for the most part. I have friends on the same block. I can see fireworks from the ball park from my front porch and mountains from my side door. My family is about 40 min away-not too close that its overwheming, not so far that we cant see them whenever we want. His family is pretty close too but we dont see them as much. Just about anything is within 10-20 minutes from my door. I do wish I had one more bedroom, so I could still have a small office/parlor for my husband to work out. We would like a bigger place when we have another kiddo but we could manage in this house, especially since the baby would be in our room for a while anyway.

Yes and no. When we're in the US I like my home state because I think it's gorgeous. But some of the people aren't very nice, and it feels like the stresses of the economy are just making people rude. When we're in Italy it's a lot different of course. People are super friendly, and it's also gorgeous. We're thinking about moving to Berlin Germany for awhile because my DH can get transfered there (he's a Pilot), so we might do that for 5 years or so. I'm looking forward to it as I love Germany.

I enjoy where I live. I live about 30-45 min from a MAJOR city - which means i have plenty to do on a friday/saturday night if I want...however our current living conditions are what we want at the moment.
My fiance and I are living with my parents after our last house had 3 major issues that could have killed us. Fire, carbon monoxide, and black mold...crazy
but we move to a house in the same town as soon as we get the P.O.D. delivered
