For the most part, yes. Even small purchases we generally talk about. We follow Dave Ramsay financial advice so we try to scrutinize frivolous spending wherever we can.

Not every purchase, just the bottom line. I do ALL the shopping for our house and Im the one who pays attention to saving money. He knows I spent $50 friday and we are not in need of anything right now and thats all he cares to know

Yes to all non-food items. I don't tell DH every time I get a Latte, because he doesn't care. But I tell him about things I buy that are not food related, even if it's just something small. DH does the same, but he does include food related items

Not at all! If it's a big purchase though, we defientely talk to one another about it first. But all the small stuff goes unmentioned. It's not that it's secretive, but we both have access to see our account from our phones if we ever wanted to check in I suppose. I don't need to know when he's going through McDonalds just like he doesn't need to know when I'm picking up some shampoo at the drug store. If it's over $100 though we discuss it first.

Nope not really. He checks the bank accounts every few days so he knows but we don't talk about all of them. Usually if it is more than 100 I tell him or he tells me.

yes. it's a trust thing for him... his ex spent them out of house and home (literally, she didn't pay the mortgage).
I mean, if I buy a soda while out for a walk, he doesn't know. If I buy hpt's, he doesn't know (well, he can see them, so he knows I purchased them) but anything non essential, even new clothing for me, He knows about.

Not really...We have separate accounts so is litterally something we don't bring up. Like someone said earlier, it's not secretive, it's just not important. At one point we were very poor and had many arguments about money. Thankfully money isn't something we have to worry about at this point so it just doesn't come up. The bills are paid and there's money in savings..the rest is for family fun.

No. I do the shopping and I do the finances. Its not like I hide anything from him but he doesnt care about everything I buy.
It goes same way, he will buy stuff and not tell me that very moment. Its not a big deal. The big expensive stuff on the other hand we talk about first, unless its a gift for the other.

I generally tell DH I am going to get something before I go get it and he does the same. We don't get into what I bought at the grocery store or things like that. I do all of the shopping and stay within a set budget we made together.
We also follow Dave Ramsey and it's an excellent way to get rid of the splurge spending.
