Is there any reason to temp before having the Mirena removed? Do you still O? DH and I would like to try gender swaying to get a boy if we decide to proceed with TTC in May or June, but my next doctor app't where I can get the IUD removed is in May.

I believe the answer is no, don't do it. lol. The hormones will wreck havoc with your chart. I've done a study while on birth control (since I do ovulate on some kinds) and my temps were all over the bloody place. If they didn't have me using opks, I'd never have known I was ovulating at what time.

I starting temping in november and had the mirena removed later that month. The only thing it did for me was build the habit. My chart was all over the place! Its just started to settle down this month. It has been helpful to see things settle down.

I would absolutely advise getting it out about 3 months before you ttc. The hormones from the mirena thin the lining and it can take a while for your body to balance those hormones again.

I don't temp but I agree if you can get it out a little earlier to try. I've had mine out for 7 weeks and still have not Oed. I know every woman is different; I had a friend pregnant within a month. But if your heart is set on TTC in May or June you may want to get the IUD out sooner.

i agree it probably wouldn't work but the good thing about swaying for a boy is you won't need to know your cycles cause you just bd on ov days. you are better off getting opks for blue and learning about cm ready for when you have iud out.
