its a long time since i did this regular. when do i start my opks? normally have 30/31 day cycles

Someone said on the FAM board that you do it at the shift of CM. Everyone has a basic pattern, so once you shift to your fertile CM (you'll usually have more than one day of it) you start testing.

I'll give you a visual aid.



Take a look at the rows of purple blocks. There are three. Two one on top of the other, and one at the bottom. Look at the middle one called Vaginal Sensation. Notice how from AF, until just before ovulation (egg at top) the blocks are light purple and half shaded and then *poof* they fill in? That's my shift, no matter what the top color is (which is actually what CM I can touch, the bottom is what I "Think"I feel like with out touching anything), as soon as I shift to slippery I'd know my body is gearing up to Ovulate. I'd have started opks on the 31st and probably have gotten a + that night or the next day (since you don't O right when you get the positive)

|When I was opking for a study I had to call and make an appointment for an US for 36-48 hours later, and there was only ONE occasion that they could not confirm ovulation.

You tend to ovulate at the peak of your cm, that's why it changes so drastically with in a day or so. You'll see I had really wet cm the day of Ovulation (and felt slippery), but the next day I lost the slippery feeling and was just had really wet cm. I knew then that I had ovulated for sure.

I also had the major O pains right when I should have, I had two days of pain because I use "days" meaning from when I wake up, to when I go to bed. So If I stay up until 6am, that is the day before, not the calender day (I'm consistent with this)... I probably ovulated at 2:30ish Am on the day after it shows the egg.. but close enough for moi. I was at least awake to know it was happening.

This is my fist clear "normal" cycle since coming off the pill. If we get the egg, with my history there is a good chance it could be a chemical.

i can pin point ov from cm everytime but because i'm going to be swaying girl i thought i'd try opks cause i need to know before i ov so i can have a cut off
