And what made you stay?

I only ask because looking around, it looks like a ghost town. It is such a shame. When I first started visiting here, ALL of the boards I lurked on were SO busy. The TTC boards had so many new posts in one day that you had to go back a page to see them all. Same with all of the DDC's I lurked in. Now, you're lucky to count 15 posts down for the day.

I wish everybody would come back here. The FB groups are definitely easy but if I could have avoided them, I would have. The only reason I joined any of them is because I didn't want to miss out on the conversations that SHOULD be happening here.

I was a member on another board for years. JM was recommended to me by a fellow member from that board when I started TTC DS and was asking about charting. I stayed bc I was lucky enough to get put in a DDC with an amazingly sweet and supportive group of women. I've met about half of them IRL and some of them have become my very closest friends. Our FB chatter does move more frequently but our PR board is still very active too.

I found Justmommies.com when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter (now 6.5). I think I was just searching for pregnancy related topics and found it. I stayed because I had a really boring job that left me with TONS of free time while at work and also because I liked the ladies in my DDC. Hope to be in a DDC in a few months

I can't remember exactly how I found it - I think I was searching for WTTC boards on Google. I had joined WTTC boards on a couple different communities, but one was suuuuper dead (like, no posts for weeks), and the other was kinda catty and clique-ish. People here seemed nice, so I stayed.

I found JM last summer when I was searching around for potential home birth resources and forums. I was also just about to move from Ontario to GA and was looking for a possible way to meet some friends before I was able to work.

The boards have gotten a lot quieter.

Keakie: what area in GA do you live in? I'm in GA as well! And also researching home birth for our next birth.

I was googling advice after my Son was born for something. Came across the website and message boards. Lurked for awhile and decided to join a playroom. Everyone was so helpful with answering my first time Mom questions!

I also lurked on another similar site but this one was much better in my mind!

I was part of a private board of ladies I met on a ttc board in 2008 and one of them had a baby girl and put a link to JM for her birth story in 2009.

I had a feeling I was pregnant. I was googling and found some JM articles and then saw that they have boards. So I joined and then when I confirmed my BFP then I joined the Aug 11 DDC. Our playroom is pretty busy usually. So far, we are one of the only groups that has NOT started a FB group. We like it that way!

I found JM when I got pregnant with my daughter in 2008. I googled pregnancy forums and this was one of the better looking places. I stuck around because my DDC was awesome!

I really hope that my next DDC will skip the FB group and I will push for them to stay on JM. I really tried to avoid it with my last PR but after some significant drama, there was no way to avoid it if we wanted to keep our group in tact.

I love my playroom! I am really hoping to meet quite a few of them.

I found this place when I was crazy with baby fever and wanted to start learning about what mommyhood would be like. When I saw the WTTC board, I was hooked.

I am also sad at how slow it's here now too. I really despise facebook groups. I don't like how they are laid out, and it's just such a pain that everyone has moved there. In my DDC it's nearly dead because everyone has moved to a facebook group.

I just had a meetup with five ladies from my PR this week for dinner. I have been really very luck to have the opportunity to meet close to half of the ladies in our PR. Some of them have become very close friends that I talk to daily and visit frequently. It's such a neat experience to get to meet these ladies IRL that you bond with so much over your pregnancies and babies! Very surreal.

That is REALLY neat, Megan. I have been a part of 2 playrooms and I have not met any of them. I wish I could but I guess the Central Coast of California is not a very popular place to live for JM mommies.

One of the girls in my PR who I just love is moving to Tx next month. She will be about 1.5 hours away from me. So not close enough to hang out often but close enough to visit!

A friend told me about it in 2007. I joined but didnt really understand how it worked, it was my first forum. But when I got pregnant with our daughter in 08 I joined the Nov 08 DDC. We are on fb now and have been through a lot but I truly believe that they are a wonderful group of women. I think that the FB activity would be less if JM was more mobile friendly. It doesnt even have to be an app just a mobile version of the site. Yes there is the forum runner but a lot of people are not willing to pay for it. Thats just the way it goes sometimes. I think that for me at least while I was pregnant and in the infant stage JM is great but as the kids get older the conversation changes, and people change, but thats okay. I really do believe a mobile version of JM would help it a lot.

I found it by just searching Google when I first got pregnant in 2009. I still come back every now and again but with my playroom being solely on fb now I'm not on JM as much.
